The carpet sweeper that leads to inner satisfaction and great happiness is here, on the right. It may look like an ordinary carpet sweeper, hard to push and not tremendously efficient. But it is not!It uses a "refreshing air-process" which sweeps up every particle of dust. And dust, as we all know, is very dangerous. This carpet sweeper was invented by Harold Sturgeon of Erie, Pennsylvania and patented in 1911, link here. It seems to be the ancestor of the modern vacuum cleaner, using suction - the refreshing air-process - to get up the dirt. It was powered by the motion of the wheels, rather than by electricity.
And if you wrote in using the magic words "I wish to see the Sweeper-Vac" - or "Please send further information" - the company would "do the rest." Ideally this would have meant that someone from the Pneuvac Company would turn up at your house and clean all the carpets.

How wonderful it would be if someone showed up to vacuum. Although if I could achieve inner satisfaction and happiness with this I'm torn...drats!

Aniya - It's funny, because we just got a new vacuum cleaner too, and are still in the novelty stage where it is sort of fun to use. I don't look quite so happy as this lady, though.
If a vacuum cleaner makes noise, I hate it. Does this one make noise? ;-)

Few days back I purchased a Lux Lookalike from EZVacuum.com Perfect Power Team Canister Vacuum C101 which appears to be a retro replica of the old Electrolux Steel type canister. This one is silent and powerful.
abbey - That's incredible! I guess it was/is really good, then. I do have a carpet sweeper myself, it is really good for the odd pick-up when it is too late or too early to start making vacuum vrooming noises.
